The Pola Museum of Art (Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture) is renowned for its rich collection, in particular of Western paintings including impressionist works.
Under the theme of “La douce France“, the coming show at Bunkamura (Shibuya, Tokyo) will explore the course of French art since the 19th century through the 20th century, featuring outstanding works lent by the Pola Museum of Art.
Highlights of the Pola Museum of Art Collection Exhibit
The show will display 74 paintings by 28 painters epitomizing the French art scene and 12 pieces of Art Nouveau and Art Deco pieces such as perfume bottles, to trace the aesthetic lineage of French art.
