20th Anniversary Exhibition
Georges Rouault: Form, Color, Harmony
8 April – 25 June 2023
Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art will host a retrospective of the French modern painter Georges Rouault (1871-1958).
Georges Rouault – Form, Color and Harmony –
The show will shed light on the career of Georges Rouault, using his words “form, color and harmony” as a common thread tying his works together.
Among the works Georges Rouault on view will include 13 masterpieces lent by the Center Pompidou in Paris such as “Polichinelle”, “Homo Homini Lupus, 1944-1948” and “Passion (Ecce Homo)”.
Those works offer a glimpse of influences that inspired him, such as artistic and social trends of his time, those of the two world wars in particular.
