    One of Tokyo’s three major fireworks festivals, “Sumida River Fireworks Festival” will be held for the first time since four years ago.

    Sumida River Fireworks Festival 2023

    A total of approximately 20,000 fireworks will be launched from two firing stations on the banks of the Sumida River (Sumida-gawa).

    From 7 pm to the finale at 8:30 pm, fireworks will explode in the sky, alternately launched from the two stations, according to their respective programmes.

    Venues and programmes

    ◆ Station No.1
    (between “Sakura-bashi” and “Kototoi-bashi” Bridges)

    A total of 9,350 fireworks will be launched from here. Following a flamboyant opening, the 2023 programme of the Venue No.1 will showcase a variety shows.

    Also, 200 fireworks participating in the competition will light up the sky for the mid-programme.

    ◆ Station No.2
    (between “Komagata-bashi” and “Umaya-bahsi” Bridges)

    The sky will explode in fiery flowers in the show of the second venue.

    A total of 10,650 fireworks will flare from this station in 2023.
