Pablo Picasso: Drawing Inspiration

The art gallery located near Shimbashi station, Tokyo, is currently hosting a solo exhibition devoted to Picasso, featuring a selection of his works lent by the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.

The show traces the trajectory of Picasso’s career through a total of about 130 works by the master, from his blue and rose periods, Cubism, Neoclassicism, the war periods through the later year.

Among Picasso’s prints on view are the Saltimbanques Suite covering “The Frugal Repat”; the Vollard Suite; the Suite 347; and also “The Dream and Lie of Franco I and II”.

The thread that connects this show’s treasures – prints, drawings and paintings – is Picasso’s drawing inspiration, notably his muses (Dora Maar, Françoise Gilot and Jacqueline Roque).
