  • Tokyo Art Meeting VI “TOKYO” -Sensing the Cultural Magma of the Metropolis

    Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo
    7 November 2015 – 14 February 2016

What Tokyo’s art and culture look like now? This exhibition attempts to answer the question by visualizing the metropolis’ creative energy in a historical context up until today – since the 1980s, when Tokyo started drawing global attention; passing through the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster and the recent economic stagnation. On this theme, several creators, particularly active in the Japanese capital, were invited to curate the exhibition from their respective perspectives and on subjects of their choice. Added to them are some latest works produced by several Japanese and foreign artists. Discover how the creativity of Tokyo is highlighted through a wide range of media, such as art, music, video and design.

Curators: YMO + Akio Miyazawa, Mika Ninagawa, Takashi Homma, Toshiki Okada, EBM(T) and Tetsuaki Matsue

Latest works by: SUPERFLEX (Denmark), Saâdane Afif (France), Lin Ke (China) and [Mé]
