KAWAII MONSTER CAFÉ
Harajuku, Tokyo
If you have already been intiated in kawaii (cute, pretty, girly…) culture or not, this place offers you a chance to experience a colourful wonderland in Harajuku. Opened on 1 August 2015, Kawaii Monster Café is a latest creation by Sebastian Masuda, art director and promoter of kawaii things, in collaboration with the Diamond Dining which runs diners and cafés around the capital. Passing through the sweet-shaped merry-go-round, get transported by Monster Girls into one of the four theme areas: “Mushroom Disco” plenty of fungi, “Milk Stand” with mammals and milk bottles, “Bar Experiment” of a giant jelly fish, and “Mel-Tea Room” of ice creams and macarons. Treat yourself with pastas, cakes or parfaits, fantastically multi-coloured and photogenic (and not too terrible to taste).
