The railways have been a locomotive of urban and regional development as well as a wellspring of culture and expressions in the Japanese society.
The Mori Tower of Roppongi Hills will soon host a special show on the Japanese railways, using the entire 52nd floor of the building.
This exhibition will shed light on the recent era of rail travel between the two Tokyo Olympic years, from 1964 (when the Shinkansen bullet train was inaugurated) to 2020, with an eclectic mix of displays.
They include train collectibles and historical objects on loan from major railway (and subway) companies from all over Japan; and also specially commissioned art works and interactive installations.
The show will entice all visitors, from ardent fans to adults and children, to the fascinating world of railways.
