ARK Hills Music Week is a music festival started by ARK Hills and Suntory Hall, both the landmarks of Tameike-sanno / Akasaka area, to bring music to the neighbourhood in an accessible form. For the seventh edition, this year’s Music Week will host a total of 69 concerts, featuring high-quality classical music and jazz.
In addition to ARK Hills and Suntory Hall (renewed on 1st September), “Akasaka Intercity AIR”, a commercial complex to be opened on 29 September, and Sumitomo Realty & Development’s “Roppongi Grand Tower” opened last year will participate in the event for the first time. A series of concerts and events will also take place at nearby museums and embassies, including Kikuchi Kanjitsu Memorial Tomo Art Museum and Sen’oku Hakukokan Museum (Tokyo).

◆ Suntory Hall Lobby Concert
A concert staged by Suntory Hall Opera Academy’s young musicians.

◆ Suntory Hall Organ Promenade Concert
The music week edition of a free lunch-time organ concert, which is held once a month.

◆ Michael Spencer and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra
Workshop for kids and their parents.

◆ Music Marché (musical instruments experience and mini concerts)
An experience to play a variety of musical instruments with experts. Mini concerts of handbells and harps will also be held.

◆ Akasaka Intercity AIR Opening Concert
“Quartet Spiritus” (saxophone quartet) delivers crisp and intense sounds.

◆ Grand finale on 14 October (Sat) at ARK Karajan Square
A day of jazz and classical music concerts staged for the Week’s grand finale.
