    Reebok Spartan Race is one the most popular obstacle races in the world, with more than one million participants worldwide and more than 200,000 spectators per year.

    The first race in Japan was held back in May. It was a Spartan Sprint, a 7 km race with 22 obstacles. The tickets were sold out. More than 5000 Spartans, men and women, participated with much excitement and grit.

    This autumn, the second Spartan Race will take place in Sagamihara on Lake Sagami, some 60 km away from Tokyo. In addition to Sprint, the “Super Spartan” and the “Spartan Kids” will be held for the first time in the country. As elsewhere in the world, training sessions will be organized. Group lessons at gyms are already available. So get prepared to climb over obstacles and cross the finish line. Aroo!

    Three categories of race will be held.

    · Spartan Sprint: about 5 km with 20 obstacles
    The shortest of the three levels of Spartan Race, the Spartan Sprint is popular among the first-timers and participants preparing for the higher levels.

    · Super Spartan: about 10 km with 25 obstacles
    The second toughest of the three and twice the distance of the Spartan Sprint, it is a great race to test mental and physical grit.

    · Spartan Kids: 1 to 2 km with 10 obstacles
    It is a safe and thrilling race for kids, great to feel the sense of accomplishment and excitement overcoming obstacles (for age 5 to 12)
