A Million People’s Candle Night 2017 at Zojo-ji Temple / Organic Fest
17 June 2017
The summer solstice approaching, the FM radio station J-WAVE (81.3 FM) will co-host “A Million People’s Candle Night”, with “Daichi-wo-mamorukai”, the company providing home delivery service of organic food.
The Candle Night was started in 2003 in Japan as an effort to raise awareness of earth-friendly life: to pull the plug and gather by candlelight for 2 hours from 8 to 10 pm on the summer and winter solstices. The present event has been organized as part of the broader movement.
◆ Stage show by K, GAKU-MC and Miu Sakamoto with CANTUS
Marking the 15th anniversary this year, K, GAKU-MC and Miu Sakamoto with CANTUS will give a live performance of music and talk. The artists will also lead the countdown with the audience at 8 pm, when the light of Tokyo Tower, right next to Zojo-ji Temple, will go off. Share a gentle moment together by candlelight under Tokyo’s night sky.
