    14 July – 12 August 2018
    Ueno Park (around Shinobazu Pond)

Ueno Park, with the cluster of museums, is one of the top destinations in Tokyo for overseas visitors. It is most popularly known for cherry blossoms in spring, but perhaps not as much for Ueno Natsu Matsuri.

Every day during this summer festival, the park will host a series of colourful events, such as antiques market, ice sculpture, floating lanterns, live stage of music and performances.

The festival reaches a climax with a big jubilant parade to be held on Saturday 21 July, with the participation, this year, of spectacular floats from age-old festivals of the Tohoku region in northern Japan.
