Tokyo Dome City, a popular attraction complex in central Tokyo, is one of the most frequented places in Tokyo to see winter lights flickering on at night and for reason.
The admission to the amusement park, with the illumination, is free. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to have something nice inside or take away, let alone a variety of paid attractions, museums, spa and sports facilities.

What not to miss of Winter Illumination 2019-2020
For the 15 edition this year, Tokyo Dome City will be lit up with Japanese-style motifs depicting the nature and events emblematic of the country. Go for a pleasant stroll and the spectacular light show.
This season’s illumination is entitled “Sanshi-suimei”, to depict the beauty of Japanese sceneries such as cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji for the visitors to discover Japan.
◆ LaQua area
A 6.5 meter cherry tree will bloom gorgeously according to the music using Japanese instruments.
◆ Crystal Avenue
Tanabata (Star Festival)
A bright Milky Way will light up a stretch of 100 meters, featuring the Star Festival, in a fantastic ambiance with shooting stars, shimmering lights of lanterns and traditional Tanabata decorations.
Japanese picture lanterns
Walk along the 2nd floor passage – a stretch of 120 meters connecting the Meets Port and Attractions areas – lit up gently with picture lanterns.
◆ Attractions Area
Yagura (Festival Tower)
This Festival Tower, like the one you see at a Bon-odori festival, is decorated with red lanterns. Beat the drum inside the Tower to launch a lively sound and light show.
◆ Meets Port Area
Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan, with shining lights, will be a perfect selfie spot at this show.
◆ Hi! EVERYVALLEY
The lights of wisteria flowers shimmer in purple and sway gently to welcomes visitors.
