Listen to the Sound of the Earth Turning
Our Wellbeing since the Pandemic
29 June – 6 November 2022
Mori Art Museum
The Covid-19 pandemic since 2020 has had no small impact on our ways of living, feeling and thinking.
There’s a pervasive sense that our well-being is at stake now, more than ever.
This show will invite us to contemplate, through the lens of contemporary art, on the question of our well-being in the post-pandemic era.

The show features 16 artists* from Japan and abroad, along with their works in various media – installations, sculptures, videos, photographs, and paintings.
Exploring themes of life and death, the family, spirituality, individuals and society, these works offer a way to expand our imagination of how to live well after the coronavirus pandemic.
The title of the show, “Listen to the Sound of the Earth Turning” is a quote from Yoko Ono‘s instruction art entitled “EARTH PIECE: Listen to the sound of the earth turning” (1963/1999).
