  • Mitsui Fudosan Ice Rink for TOKYO 2020

    5 January – 5 March 2017
    Tokyo Midtown

Every winter, Tokyo Midtown’s ice rink pleases many with the joy of outdoor skating. Visitors glide at their own pace, in the morning, during lunch break or after work, either alone, with their friends, families or special someone… The rink is pleasant and equipped with a rest area where you can take a break with your skates on. At night, skating is even more joyful as the arena gets illuminated elegantly.

This year, the ice rink has an additional role in promoting sports. The event, certified as part of Tokyo 2020’s official programme (sports / health), is to contribute to revitalizing the city and galvanize the enthusiasm for the Olympic-Paralympic games.

Accordingly, two special skating lessons will be offered under the title “Ice Skating Academy”. Led by the professional figure skater Nobunari Oda, the academy will be held on opening day (5 January) for elementary school students in the neighborhood; then for the (pre-selected) general public on 25 February. A great opportunity to learn skating directly from the world-class athlete!

As a bonus, the rink will be open free every Saturday, from 9 to 10:30 am.
    Viva Tokyo 2020!!
