MIDTOWN OPEN THE PARK 2017

Tokyo Midtown, which marked its 10th anniversary in March, is now celebrating early summer with the annual “Golden Week” event, amid fresh air.
On the programme: colourful koi-nobori (carp streamers) swimming in the air, in the greenery. Yoga sessions under the blue sky. An open-air library, which will provide the pleasure of reading on the lawn. A café in the shade of trees, offering highballs and relaxing moments.
◆ Midpark Gallery: koi-nobori collection
Approximately 100 carp streamers, designed by artists from five countries, will swim in the air at Midtown Garden.

The popular outdoor yoga event will take place this year at the foot of “Edo Fuji”.

Feel early summer at this pleasant café under the trees. Highballs made of Suntory whisky “Chita” and snacks are on the menu.

◆ Edo Fuji
In celebration of Midtown’s tenth anniversary, a miniature Mount Fuji entitled “Edo Fuji” (about 6 meters high) was created on the lawn by Seijun Nishihata, the “Plant Hunter”. At night Edo Fuji shows different faces thanks to sound and light spectacles designed by NAKED. Inc. and Rhizomatiks Architecture.
