  • Marunouchi Illuminations 2015

    12 November 2015 – 14 February 2016

Here comes the yearly event of winter illuminations in Marunouchi, once Tokyo’s typical business district, now more fashionably refurbished. The surroundings of Marunouchi Naka-dori Street, about 1200 meters long, will be lit in champagne colour and this, in an eco-friendly manner. All the power used for the lighting comes from natural energy sources. Most of the bulbs used are “Eco Illumination” LED (light emitting diode) bulbs, said to reduce 65% of power consumption compared to that of the older LEDs. Even better, “New Eco Illumination” LED bulbs are adopted partially, further to reduce 30% of power consumption per bulb. Yet the district shines as brightly and elegantly as ever under the winter sky.
