  • Marunouchi Illumination 2018-2019

    Marunouchi Nakadori Street and around Tokyo Station

    Every winter, Marunouchi area, on the west side of Tokyo Station, lights up elegantly in golden shades of sparkling wine. Over the years, it has become one of the major winter lights attractions in Tokyo.

    The 17th edition of the event for this season will be organized again in an eco-conscious manner. More LED bulbs of the latest type will be added to replace the older ones to reduce the total energy consumption. All the energy used to light up the main street comes from solar and wind power.


    ◆ Marunouchi Bright Christmas 2018

    In November and December, visit also Christmas trees and decorations in Marunouchi area. Under this year’s theme of Nordic Christmas, decorations will be set in a gentle tone to give the feeling of Nordic winter light, snow and colours. Admission free.

    【place】 Maru-biru, Shin-Maru-biru, Marunouchi Brick Square, Nijubashi Square and other sites

    The main site, Marunouchi Building or “Maru-biru” will install a Christmas tree created in partnership with Yumi Matsutoya, a popular musician affectionately called “Yuming”.

    She once travelled Nordic countries and composed songs such as “Northern Lights”. The artist will show up for the lighting ceremony, scheduled to take place on 8 November.
