  • Gaudí and the Sagrada Família

    13 June – 10 September 2023
The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

The work of great modernist Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) continues to inspire people around the world, whether amateurs or specialists in various fields beyond architecture.

Featuring the Sagrada Família basilica, the show will explore its significance, tracing the trajectory of this masterpiece that is still a work in progress, but is now approaching to the completion a century after Gaudi’s death.

The exhibits will consist of more than 100 pieces including drawings, models, and photographs, to reveal the sources of inspiration for the architect’s design – such as artistic representations of nature – and his unique creation process.

Cherry on the cake, high-resolution videos will unveil the latest images of the basilica of the Sagrada Família.

After Tokyo, the show will travel to Shiga Prefecture and Aichi Prefecture.
