Viewing of the Diamond Fuji
23 – 29 January 2021
SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory
SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of Tokyo from 251 meters above sea level.
Diamond Fuji seen from SKY CIRCUS
Twice yearly, Mount Fuji looks even more gorgeous, putting a diamond on its head: In January, the sun sets right on top of the iconic mountain; and in July, the sun rises from its summit.
The phenomenon is called “Diamond Fuji” or Mount Fuji with a diamond.
The conditions are particularly favourable on clear winter days to witness this amazing celestial show.
If you are (next time) in Tokyo, visit the observatory at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro to admire the Diamond Fuji. There will be no extra charge, other than the regular admission fees.
