  • Countdown 2019 at Diamond & Flower Ferris Wheel

    31 December 2018 – 1 January 2019
Kasai Seaside Park (kasai rinkai koen)

Kasai rinkai koen is a seaside park located near Tokyo Disneyland, at the first stop from Maihama Station toward Tokyo on the JR Keiyo Line.

The park is a popular weekend destination for families and friends, with a playground, a beach, an aquarium and one of the largest Ferris wheels existing in Japan, which glows romantically under the night sky.

The grand Ferris wheel will host an annual countdown event on New Year’s Eve and will be open exceptionally all night through New Year’s Day.

The admission to Kasai Seaside Park and the countdown stage at the Ferris wheel will be free.

Weather permitting, have a magnificent panorama of Tokyo Bay and catch a glimpse of the first sunrise of the year. Seeing the first sunrise is considered to be auspicious in Japan to start a good new year. Also admire the view of Mount Fuji at a distance, from 117 meters high in the sky.

◆Countdown to New Year 2019 at the Ferris wheel

For the annual event of countdown to New Year, the stage will start around 11 pm on 31 December 2018, with a good vibe from spirited dancers.

Dia-chan, the mascot of the Diamond & Flower Ferris Wheel, will show up on stage at 11:45 pm.

The lights of the Ferris wheel will go off at 11:55 pm for the countdown and then turn on again, amid excitement and cheers, to celebrate New Year 2019.
