Sakura Festival 2017

In spring, some 220 cherry trees come into full bloom along a stretch of about 1 kilometer near Ark Hills, in an international neighbourhood of Akasaka.
To celebrate spring, the 2017 edition of the annual “Sakura Festival” will be held for three days. Fun “o-hanami” (cherry blossom viewing) activities will await you there, such as mini-picnicking, food stalls, live music, workshops and other participatory programs.
The rooftop garden on the Suntory Hall building, usually closed to the public, will also be opened spcecially during the event.
◆ Lighting of cherry trees
Lighting of some 220 Somei Yoshino cherry trees, lining streets surrounding ARK Hills from Sakura-zaka to Spain-zaka.

◆ Gourmet food stalls
Food stalls run by ARK Hills’ 13 restaurants and cafes will offer tasty snacks, perfect for o-hanami.

◆ Special flower decoration
Dynamic cherry blossom arrangement made by the flower artist Jun Iwai will set the flowery tone of the event venue. On the final day, the tree branches used in the arrangement will be distributed to the public.

Japanese music by the quintet led by Keisuke Ito (Tsugaru shamisen) with shakuhachi, guitar, bass players and a percussionist.

Hills Marché (held every Saturday) will be held on Saturday and Sunday for extended hours. Find fresh fruits and vegetables, your favourite jam, spring flowers and more.
