Rediscover the charm of Yoyogi Park

    28 – 29 October 2017
    Yoyogi Park

Yoyogi Park, lying next to the Meiji-jingu shrine and close to Harajuku, was opened to the public half a century ago in 1967. Previously, the site had been a military training ground since the 1910s, then the US Army’s housing complex “Washington Heights” following the world war, and finally, the Olympic Village for athletes at the time of the first Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.

Today Yoyogi Park is a green oasis for Tokyoites and a venue for a variety of events and festivals held throughout the year.
