  • Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony 2016

    24 – 25 September 2016 (Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum)
    15-16 October 2016 (Hama-rikyu Garden)

The art of Japanese tea ceremony is all about pursuing the ultimate beauty in every aspect of making tea and receiving guests. Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony 2016 offers a great occasion to get initiated into this art in casual manner. Sessions in English will also be provided.

Two venues are available: Hama-rikyu, a landscaped Japanese garden dating from the Edo Period, located in central Tokyo; and Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, located inside Koganei Park in a western suburb of Tokyo. The latter is an open-air museum displaying historical buildings and houses (a few of them said to have served as models for the settings of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated film “Spirited Away”).
