To spend summer evenings in a Japanese fashion, visit the 14th edition of “Roppongi Hills Bon Odori”. Bon odori is a joyous Japanese folk dance, nowadays devoid of religiosity (it used to be – and it still is in some places across the country – performed as part of “bon” or “o-bon”, a Japanese-style Buddhist festival of ancestral worship). People clad in yukata dance in a circle round the stage-tower erected in the middle of Hills’ Arena. Join them and dance to the rhythm of vibrant folk music – step forward, step back and clap your hands. Or stroll through the crowd, tasting delicious snacks from the festival stalls.
