    22 November 2017 – summer 2018 (scheduled)
Konica Minolta Planetarium TENKU in Tokyo Skytree Town®

After a major renovation, Konica Minolta Planetarium TENKU in Tokyo Skytree Town® will reopen its doors with a new thematic concept “Magic Blue”. It signifies a special moment when the first stars start to appear at dusk.

The new TENKU is equipped with the latest projection and stereophonic “Sound Dome™” system, which realizes a magic moment like the one that happens in the celestial vault.

There is another novelty: three comfy “crescent sofas” (Mikazuki seats) have been placed in the first row. Have you ever dreamed of sitting on a crescent moon and gazing at the stars? A dream come true!

This wonderful planetarium at the foot of Tokyo Skytree celebrates its renewal with two special shows, one of which takes you to France by starlight.

◆ Voyage en France à la lumière des étoiles

The show takes you to travel in France, where Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the author of “the Little Prince” was born.

Sounds that make you feel you are there

This programme is digitally formatted to adapt to the “Sound Dome™” system introduced at this renewal. Using as many as 43 speakers installed around the dome, the system realizes vivid, three-dimensional music and sound, such as those sounds and voices recorded in France for this show. Every note of the soundtrack is so clear that you feel like you are there now.

    Narration and the theme music

The show is narrated in Japanese by Yuichiro Umehara, with his sweet and gentle voice as your guide through France. The theme music is “Rokutosei-no-yoru (the night of the sixth magnitude stars) Magic Blue ver.” by the singer-songwriter Aimer. Multilingual audio guides are available.
