Bank of the Edo-gawa (Edo River)

The Edogawa Fireworks Festival is one of the most popular summer fireworks festivals held in Japan. It is utterly spectacular to see large fireworks fired into the sky from a close distance on the bank of the Edo-gawa (Edo River).

The 2017 edition delivers an eight-part programme under the theme “Grand Flowers (Fireworks) of Edogawa Blossoming (in the sky)”.

The nocturnal show opens up with a spectacular firing of 1,000 fireworks in just 5 seconds! In the part entitled “Silver White Mount Fuji”, the particles of pyrotechnic light are arranged in an image of Mount Fuji in winter. In the “Mysterious Paradise”, violet flowers of fireworks glow in the sky. And of course, a flamboyant grand finale will close the programme with a shower of silver and golden lights.
